TV shows I’m excited about this March

I don’t generally do TV preview lists because I’m all about the movies but March is so insane on the TV front that I simply had to write about it! Here’s a rundown of all the shows I’m excited about this month:

Succession S4

Considering how much I raved about season three, Succession S4 being top of my list is a no-brainer. It would have been top anyway, but the fact this is the final season adds an extra level of excitement. I cannot wait to find out how the story of the twisted Roy family ends – give it to me now. Episodes released weekly on HBO/Sky from 26th March.

Daisy Jones & The Six

As a massive fan of Taylor Jenkins Reid‘s book of the same name, I quickly inhaled the first three episodes of this drama when they dropped on Friday. I’m not completely convinced by it yet but those episodes were basically just setup; the real drama starts now. The show stars Riley Keough and Sam Claflin as the lead singers of a Fleetwood Mac-inspired band in the 1970s. There’s addiction, infidelity, band fallouts, you know, the usual shenanigans. Streaming now on Prime Video.

Yellowjackets S2

2021’s breakout smash – about a girls’ football team which is stranded in the wilderness after a plane crash – is coming back and I can’t wait to find out what happens next. The action takes place across two timelines – the teenage girls in the ’90s and the adult survivors in the present day, played by the incredible Juliette Lewis, Christina Ricci, Melanie Lynskey and Tawny Cypress. I feel like the cannibalistic stuff I expected from S1 will be delivered this time around. Brace yourselves! Episodes released weekly on Paramount+ from 24th March.

March TV show, Ted Lasso
Ted Lasso (Apple TV+)

Ted Lasso S3

I wasn’t that thrilled by the second season of football comedy Ted Lasso but I’m looking forward to seeing how the storyline ends (Jason Sudeikis just confirmed this is the final batch). I can’t wait to be reunited with Ted, Hannah Waddingham‘s Rebecca, Juno Temple‘s Keeley and Brett Goldstein‘s Roy Kent. Streaming weekly on Apple TV+ on 15th March.

The Power

I read Naomi Alderman‘s 2016 novel of the same name a couple of years ago and I have been keeping a close eye on the series adaptation. The sci-fi is set in an alternate reality in which women are able to release electric jolts from their fingertips. It explores what society would look like if women had the power, and if it’s anything like the novel, the show gets pretty dark! Starring Toni Collette (who replaced Leslie Mann), Auliʻi Cravalho and Toheeb Jimoh, the show will start streaming on Prime Video on 31st March.

You S4, Part 2

I am not that sold on the murder-mystery storyline for You season four so far but I will absolutely be tuning in when the final five episodes drop on 9th March. The show is trashy but I devour it quicker than most series. While I enjoy watching it, I’ll be happy if this is our last outing with Penn Badgeley‘s Joe Goldberg. On Netflix from Thursday.

You’re probably wondering why The Mandalorian isn’t on this list. Well, that is simply because I missed the boat with the first two seasons and still need to catch up! Also, I haven’t put The Last of Us on here because it premiered last month but I’m very excited about its finale next week.

I will be doing my best to watch these shows and give my opinions throughout the month but please bear with me if that doesn’t quite pan out!
